(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close one lane of traffic on northbound I-295 for ongoing bridge rehabilitation work between Monday, July 23 through Friday, July 27.
The far right lane of traffic on northbound I-295 between exit 1C and 1B, the east and westbound exits for Pennsylvania Avenue, respectively, will be closed. The right shoulder on this stretch of I-295 will also be closed during this time and will remain closed through the completion of the bridge rehabilitation project.
Two northbound lanes will remain open to traffic during this time. All work will be completed overnight between 8:00 pm and 5:00 am.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers approaching the areas and guide them through the construction area. Motorists should anticipate moderate delays due to the lane closure. Drivers are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the work zone.
