The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington has issued a Red Flag Warning for strong winds and low relative humidity, which is in effect until 7 PM EDT this evening.
TIMING: Until 7 PM EDT this evening.
WINDS: Northwest 15 to 20 mph with gusts around 25 to 35 mph.
RELATIVE HUMIDITY: Around 15 to 30 percent, with the lowest
values most likely in Virginia.
IMPACTS: Any fire that develops will catch and spread
quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
FUEL MOISTURE: Falling to less than 10 percent.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the publics assistance in locating 69 year old Derrick Holmes, who was last seen in the 1300 block of Main Drive, NW, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
Derrick Holmes is described as a black male, 5’8” tall, 194 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a tan hoody, gray sweatpants, white sneakers, and white surgical mask.
