[AlertDC] NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center has issued a G4 (Severe) Geomagnetic Storm Watch for Tuesday, January 20, due to increased solar activity.
A geomagnetic storm could cause temporary impacts to critical infrastructure, including power systems, GPS, radio communications, and satellite services.
Residents and visitors may also notice unusual aurora activity, which could be visible farther south than normal.
What you should know:
- Minor disruptions to communications or navigation systems are possible
- No immediate action is required at this time
