The District of Columbia Government Hypothermia Alert will remain activated for Friday January 11, 2019. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the current temperature is 29 degrees with a wind chill of 16 degrees. Today’s forecast is sunny, with a low around 26 degrees. Northwest winds from 9-14 mph.

The District issues the Hypothermia Alert when the actual or forecasted temperature, including wind chill, is or will be 32°F or below or when the overnight temperature is forecasted to be 40°F or below and a chance of precipitation is 50% or greater. To request shelter transport for DC residents who are experiencing homelessness and on the street, please call 311 or the shelter hotline at (202) 399-7093.
