[AlertDC] On Saturday, March 28, 2026, there are multiple First Amendment activities occurring within the District of Columbia. In conjunction with these events, there will be parking restrictions and street closures that motorists should take into consideration. Further the Metropolitan Police Department would like to remind motorists and pedestrians of increased activity in the downtown area.
On Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the following streets will be posted as Emergency No Parking:
• 600 block of Howard Road, SE
• 2nd Street from R Street to P Street, SW
• P Street from 2nd Street to 4th Street, SW
• 4th Street from P Street to M Street, SW
On Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the following streets may experience temporary street closures:
• Howard Road from Suitland Parkway to Firth Sterling Avenue, SE
• Inbound Suitland Parkway from Firth Sterling Avenue to Frederick Douglass Bridge
On Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 13:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the following streets may experience temporary street closures:
• Frederick Douglass Bridge
• South Capitol Street from L Street to the Frederick Douglass Bridge
• 2nd Street from R Street to P Street, SW
• P Street from 2nd Street to 4th Street, SW
• 4th Street from P Street to M Street, SW
• M Street from 6th Street to 3rd Street, SW
While the Metropolitan Police Department does not anticipate additional street closures, there is the potential for intermittent closures in the downtown area of the District of Columbia. Any decision to close a street will be based upon public safety.
