The District of Columbia Government will keep the Hypothermia Alert in effect for Wednesday, January 16, 2019. According to the National Weather Service, the current temperature is 26 degrees with no wind chill. Tonight's forecast is partly cloudy, with a low around 27 degrees. West winds of 5-7 mph.
The District issues the Hypothermia Alert when the actual or forecasted temperature, including wind chill, is or will be 32°F or below or when the overnight temperature is forecasted to be 40°F or below and a chance of precipitation is 50% or greater.
