The District of Columbia Government will keep the Hypothermia Alert activated for Monday, December 10, 2018, until further notice. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the current temperature is 32 degrees with a wind chill of 24 degrees. Today's forecast is partly sunny, with a high near 41 degrees, with north winds ranging from 7 to 9 mph.

The District issues the Hypothermia Alert when the actual or forecasted temperature, including wind chill, is or will be 32°F or below or when the overnight temperature is forecasted to be 40°F or below and a chance of precipitation is 50% or greater. To request shelter transport for DC residents who are experiencing homelessness and on the street, please call 311 or the shelter hotline at (202) 399-7093.


Many alerts regard violent crime. Do not take action, instead call 911 with the event number if listed.
