The District of Columbia Government will keep the Hypothermia Alert activated for Sunday, December 9, 2018. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the current temperature is 32 degrees with a wind chill of 29 degrees. Today’s forecast is likely snow mainly after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 37 degrees. Northeast winds ranging from 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

The District issues the Hypothermia Alert when the actual or forecasted temperature, including wind chill, is or will be 32°F or below or when the overnight temperature is forecasted to be 40°F or below and a chance of precipitation is 50% or greater.
